DHI Hair Transplant

Hair transplantation has become a popular solution for problems such as hair loss and thinning experienced by women and men in recent years. One of the new hair transplantation techniques that emerged as a result of the developments in the hair transplantation industry and technology is the DHI hair transplantation technique.

DHI hair transplantation, in which canal opening and hair follicle placement are performed simultaneously, provides effective and natural results. One of the biggest advantages of the method is that it eliminates the need to keep the collected hair follicles waiting too long until hair transplantation due to the simultaneous canal opening and hair follicle placement procedures. Thus, the risk of root loss is minimized. After this method, where the risk of bleeding is less, the patient's recovery period is shorter and the patient can return to his daily routine as soon as possible.

What is DHI Hair Transplantation?

DHI hair transplantation is one of the most advanced hair transplantation methods and is performed using special devices called implanter pens. In other hair transplantation techniques, the hair transplantation process, which is performed in three stages such as graft collection, canal opening, and graft transplantation, is completed in two stages such as graft collection and graft transplantation in the DHI method.

The reason for this is the features of the implanter pen devices used in the method. Within the scope of DHI hair transplantation, after the grafts are placed in the implanter pen device, the skin is punctured and the graft is left in the skin, so canal opening and graft transplantation operations can be performed simultaneously.

Who is DHI Hair Transplantation Suitable for?

DHI hair transplantation is a method that can be applied to people with male pattern hair loss. The patient's hair root depth and thickness are evaluated to determine the suitability for DHI hair transplantation, which is effective in combating hereditary hair loss and regression in the hairline. DHI hair transplantation is generally considered a suitable method for those who have limited hair loss and need up to 3,000 grafts. It is possible to achieve a denser appearance with DHI hair transplantation as it offers the opportunity to transplant more frequently per square centimeter. In addition, DHI hair transplantation is more advantageous than FUE hair transplantation in creating a natural hairline.

How is DHI Hair Transplantation Performed?

The first stage of DHI hair transplantation is local anesthesia. The hair follicles collected from the donor area are placed into the Choi implanter pen one by one and very carefully. After the assistants place each of the hair follicles into the Choi implanter pen, the transplantation process is performed by the specialist doctor.

The hair follicles should be transplanted at an angle of 40 to 45 degrees. It is possible to obtain a natural appearance if the hair transplantation is performed by determining the correct angle and direction according to the direction of hair growth.

After determining the correct angle and direction, the hair follicles placed in the Choi needle are transplanted by utilizing the pushing feature of the needle. During DHI hair transplantation, usually, 2 to 6 Choi pens and 15 to 16 Choi tips are used. Since the tips of the Choi implanter pens used during DHI hair transplantation have different sizes, the pen tip to be used specifically for the patient should be selected according to the root and thickness of the patient's hair.

Recovery Process After DHI Hair Transplantation

Patients are advised to rest for a few days after DHI hair transplantation. After the application, hair may be temporarily lost for a few months due to shock loss. After 3-4 months, hair grows permanently. After the application, salty foods that may cause edema should not be consumed, the head should be kept elevated and activities that may cause sweating should be avoided.
