Sapphire Hair Transplant
Sapphire hair transplantation is an advanced FUE hair transplantation technique that provides the most natural results in hair transplantation and the opportunity to perform hair transplantation more frequently.
The main condition for successful hair transplantation is to transplant the maximum number of grafts to the part where hair loss occurs in the healthiest way possible. Another important point is that the transplanted hair looks dense and natural. In this method, hair follicles collected from the donor area are transplanted into the micro channels opened with sapphire-tipped special tools. Since it provides a much more natural appearance, it is considered as a method that increases the success of hair transplantation results.
What is Sapphire Hair Transplantation?
The minimally invasive version of the FUE hair transplantation technique, which is applied with special surgical pens with sharp tips produced from sapphire ore, is called sapphire hair transplantation. Sapphire hair transplantation is basically not a separate technique.
However, it can be defined as an innovation that improves the success and comfort of FUE hair transplantation method. The most important feature of the special sapphire-tipped blades used in sapphire hair transplantation, which is performed in line with the principles of the FUE technique to open micro channels in the areas to be transplanted, is to reduce the size of the wounds and accelerate the healing process.
Who is Sapphire Hair Transplantation Suitable for?
Sapphire hair transplantation can be applied to men and women who have hair loss or thinning problems and have sufficient amount of hair follicles in the donor areas. People with permanent hair loss due to severe hair loss in a large area, regression of the forehead line, opening at the temples, opening of the hair from the top, homogeneous opening, cicatricial alopecia, traction alopecia, alopecia due to chemotherapy or scalp infection can also benefit from sapphire hair transplantation method.
How is Sapphire Hair Transplantation Performed?
Sapphire hair transplantation is performed under local anaesthesia. Hair follicles are collected one by one using micro tips from the nape of the head or from a different donor area. After the collected hair follicles are separated according to their thickness, they are kept in special solutions ready for hair transplantation.
1 mm - 1.,3 mm - 1.5 mm diameter special sapphire tips are used to open "V" shaped microchannels. Successful and natural results can be obtained as a result of opening these micro-channels in the size of the hair follicle with sharp, smooth and durable tips, and since more channels can be opened with sapphire tips, hair follicles can be transplanted closer. Sapphire hair transplantation is considered as an advantageous method at this point since the angle, direction, and frequency of the opened channels are among the factors that directly affect the hair appearance.
While opening the channels in Sapphire hair transplantation, different sapphire tips can be used to match the diameter of the hair follicle to be transplanted. Hair follicles are planned to provide an aesthetic appearance according to the characteristics of the area to be transplanted and "V" shaped channels are transplanted.
Recovery Process After Sapphire Hair Transplantation
The first 1 week after Sapphire hair transplantation is considered the most sensitive stage of the healing process. For the first 3 days, the hair should not be in contact with water and should be protected as much as possible. For this reason, it is not recommended to go out unless necessary.
If it is necessary to go out, it is recommended to wear a hat that will not make the head sweat. Likewise, activities that may cause sweating and tilting the head forward should be avoided. In the early recovery period, the hair transplantation area should be protected from contact and impacts.
Since surgical deformation is low, scabs are usually removed within the first 1 month. After the shock loss in this period, the growth process of new hair is expected. Approximately 6 months after the hair transplantation, the hair that starts to grow again is weak at first, but as it grows, the roots become stronger and the hair strands thicken.
